Project Manager (Commercial Roofing Sales)
San Leandro, CA

The ideal candidate will not only possess a wide range of experience and knowledge in various commercial roofing systems, but will also have the rapport-building skills necessary to effectively communicate and establish relationships with customers as well as the flexibility to meet at the customer’s convenience and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The development and implementation of marketing strategies and programs, for the Northern California region:

    • Properly focus our resources and ensure that we know every piece of information available to us about our customers and competitors, constantly broaden our customer base and maximize our sales opportunities;
    • Takes responsibility for the coordination, production and implementation of marketing programs while developing and enhancing the desired image of DRI in all regions;
    • Uses every means possible (i.e. networking, information from vendors, information from trade periodicals, etc.) in addition to formal tracking of activity in all markets in which we are active to thoroughly understand all information relevant to us about who is doing what in our market.

  2. The development and implementation of sales strategies and programs, for the Northern California region:

    • Produce results that meet the budgeted Commercial revenue and gross profit projections for the Company;
    • Takes responsibility for recognizing all sales opportunities.

  3. Producing estimates and proposals and updates/extensions of contracts:

    • Procuring plans, overseeing take-offs, producing estimates and assisting with proposal preparation and follows-up proposals with customers;
    • Takes responsibility for the overall scheduling of the estimating process at DRI with a special eye toward the timeliness of the turnaround of proposals;
    • Assists in producing estimates that are accurate and well presented and works with estimating staff to constantly upgrade, refine and update estimating templates;
    • Satisfy the requirements of our customers and create the best possible presentation to position us to close individual sales and to maximize the opportunity to increase profitability;
    • Ensure that job costs are correctly projected for every project bid;
    • Takes complete responsibility for updates or extensions of current contracts.

  4. Networking with potential new customers and entertaining newly established and current customers:

    • Entertains customers and the building of strong personal relationships and recognizes contacts and develops relationships with all potential new customers.

  5. Maintaining sales-related reports and logs writing reports regarding Commercial construction activity in his/her market region, and keeping management abreast on important new information regarding our customers and competitors:

    • Maintains Bid Tracking Reports, Project Control Log (in cooperation with Southern California office staff), Bid Analysis Reports, and Billing Information Sheets;
    • Submits a brief written report on a weekly basis that provides a broad summary of all activity in his/her market area that is relevant to our current activities and strategies, focusing on important new information regarding our customers and competitors.
